Riitta's Bio and Experience

Riitta Pollock holds a BA from Purchase College where she studied visual arts as well as art history. She was worked for the Northern Westchester Center as a ceramic and art instructor from 2000-2005. Over 15 years she has created art history based programs and hands-on-projects for public schools including artist-in-residency programs (three Eastchester elementary schools) from grades 1, 3 and 5. Riitta also conducts classes in her studio in various media including clay, where she teaches children from Kindergarten to high school as well as adults, and conducts summer and vacation camps.

Riitta has also taught after school enrichment programs in local schools (Chappaqua (3 schools), Mt.Kisco, Briarcliff and numerous other schools) in various media, from Kindergarten to fifth grade. She has also instructed adults at the Chappaqua and Tuckahoe Libraries. Life Time Arts gave an Aging Grant for these programs. (one for clay and the other for painting and studying various artists)

She has also taught adults at the Chappaqua Senior Center and in the city of White Plains, where she instructed a special needs older population.
